Here at Serapic Farm we have been raising Nubian Dairy Goats for the past five years.
Nubians are a large breed of goat; females averaging 135lbs and males averaging 175
or more lbs. Nubians are known for their high percentage of butterfat in the milk which
gives the milk a sweet rich flavor. They are a loving breed of goat that can be relatively
noisy at times. Nubians make wonderful pets and can even be trained as pack
animals or to pull a cart.
Our goats are kept on very strict feeding, hoof trimming, worming, and vaccination
routines. Our does are milked twice daily. Our goats are kept on pasture and have
run-in sheds for bad weather days. We also have goat stalls indoors for kidding and
cold temperatures. Goat stalls are also cleaned daily. In addition to pasture grazing,
our goats are fed alfalfa hay, sweet feed, and minerals. All of our goats have been
bottle raised on pasteurized milk. We also maintain a strict disease free herd. All of
our goats have been tested negative for CAE and CL. We also only select goats for out
herd that are raised with exceptional husbandry and that are disease free.
